Coulton Glazing
Private Detective
Coulton Glazing first saw the light of day in the early 1980s as a British equivalent to the American hard boiled detective of the 1930s and 1940s (although based in the present day). He was originally slated to appear in a new British detective pulp magazine, but the magazine failed to appear due to funding problems (they couldn't get any).
Glazing then sat unseen and unloved for a few years while the author concentrated on projects that would actually make him a living! Then in the 1990s the same publishing company tried once more to get the pulp magazine up and running. And once more they failed.
However this time they got as far as setting up a website to publicise the magazine, and when the magazine failed to get the expected funding (again) the website remained. One of the items on the website was a Coulton Glazing story, so for a few years Glazing remained in public view. He became an instant hit and began getting fan emails almost immediately. Flattered by this the author continued to add material to the website when he could find the time, despite the fact that he was not getting paid for it.
Then, a few years ago, the website finally died as the publishers got fed up with paying a hosting bill on a website designed to publicise a magazine that they were at last forced to accept was a dead duck. So the author put Glazing on the back burner again, where he sat until today.
We are very lucky to be allowed to bring him back to the foreground and run this new story as a chapter by chapter serial on detective-fiction.info
